This Instant Pot BBQ shredded chicken is a staple when I want to just throw something together during the week! I take the recipe straight out of my previous BBQ chicken wing recipe. The sauce I make is a honey BBQ sauce and is perfect if you like a sweet honey BBQ for my pulled chicken.
You can make it in the slow cooker, but it’s fast and easy to make it in the Instant Pot pressure cooker. It’s your choice to make it from frozen or from thawed chicken breast or boneless chicken thighs. What I love about the Instant Pot is that you don’t have to worry about your chicken being defrosted, just cook it a little while longer on the pressure cook setting.
Make The Best Instant Pot BBQ Shredded Chicken Fast!
There are some nights that I don’t want to get up and make a whole meal. The BBQ shredded chicken is perfect for those nights because I don’t have to think ahead and thaw the chicken. This is pretty much a dump n’ go Instant Pot recipe worth noting.
Instant Pot BBQ Shredded Chicken Directions
Dump all your ingredients in your Instant Pot. Make sure your valve is set to sealing.
For frozen chicken, set pressure to high for 15 minutes. Set pressure to 10 minutes if you’re using thawed chicken.
After time goes off, do a quick release by carefully moving the valve from sealing to venting (I use a long wooden spoon to do this). Remove the lid. Be careful.
Take your chicken out of the Instant Pot. Cut the chicken breast into large sections and shred using two forks. Put shredded chicken back in the pot to mix with the bbq sauce.
TA-DA! You have your tasty shredded pulled chicken from the Instant Pot.
