Easy and Crispy Air Fryer Bacon

Air Fryer Bacon

Air fryer bacon is coming in hot and changing the world. No more greasy, splattery mess. Bacon is done in just about 10 minutes when cooked in the air fryer.

Why Cook Bacon in an Air Fryer?

Cooking air fryer bacon is the hands-off approach to cooking bacon to a perfect crisp. All you need to do is put the bacon in the air fryer, set the temperature and timer, and walk away. You don’t get splatters and clean up is super easy. For fast cleanup, just toss everything in the dishwasher.

Will Air Fryer Bacon Burn?

You will not get burned edges like you normally would on a hot stove. Set the air fryer for the right time, and it comes out perfect every time crisp, not fatty. All the fat will go down into the bottom of the tray.

Collect the fat in a glass jar and use the fat to cook eggs or fried potatoes on the stove.

And if you don’t want the drips, you can put a couple of slices of plain white bread down there to soak up the grease.

How to Cook Air Fryer Bacon

Today is the day air fryer bacon will change your life!

Prepare your air fryer by either putting foil on the bottom of the pan. Or use white bread slices by putting them on the bottom to collect the grease.

First, layer on your bacon by putting the bacon in the air fryer basket. If you are using a lot of bacon, overlapping the slices as the bacon will shrink while cooking.

To allow more bacon in the air fryer, you can cut the bacon into thirds or fourths, so it doesn’t take up a lot of room in one single layer and will cook more evenly.

Set the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. No flipping necessary.

Note: Turkey bacon cooks faster, so allow it to cook for 7 or 8 minutes instead.

Once the timer goes off, remove the bacon from the basket onto a paper towel-lined plate to let it drain.

Cleanup by pouring the bacon grease from the foil sheet to a mason jar to throw away or use for later by putting it in the fridge. If you put bread underneath, just throw the slices away.

Soak the air fryer basket for about 20 minutes and wipe or put straight into the dishwasher.

Enjoy your air fryer bacon with eggs made in that delicious leftover bacon grease.

Will Air Fryer Bacon Cause Smoke?

Not really. I’ve never had any smoke while cooking air fryer bacon, but I’m sure there are cases in which it would happen. You can try to alleviate any smoke by putting a tad bit of water on the bottom of the pan.

The bread on the bottom of the pan should catch all the grease, and stop the bacon from smoking up the house. Foil would work perfectly fine, too.
