1 tablespoon of finely grated fresh ginger (or 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger)
2 garlic cloves, peeled and finely grated or minced
2 tablespoons of chopped scallions (from about 1 large scallion, white and green parts)

Egg wash (1 egg beaten / 1 tablespoon water)
Oil, for coating
How to Make Air Fryer Fried Wontons
To make air fryer fried wontons, using pre-made wonton wrappers, cut them into 3-inch squares. With the wrappers aside, combine your choice of meat, garlic, ginger, scallion, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, cabbage, and oyster sauce, mixing well.
If you are doing cream cheese wontons, you can skip the cabbage, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, and oyster sauce. Set aside your filling mixture.
Mix together your egg wash in a small bowl. Set that aside.
Now, you’re going to assemble the air fryer wontons by putting your wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Dip your index finger in the egg wash and paint your finger on the four edges of the wrapper.
Grab a teaspoon and dip into your filling, placing the mixture in the center of the wonton wrapper. To fold, bring in one corner to the opposite corner, cattie-corner.
Squeeze out air bubbles and seal the wrapper tightly so everything cooks inside.
Place a hole-filled air fryer parchment sheet on the bottom of the air fryer. Place your wontons on the bottom of the basket or pan, in one even and single layer, not touching one another.
You may need to cook in batches to do this. Spray your wontons with an oil sprayer of avocado oil.
Fry at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 4 minutes. Then, do a gentle shake and turn over the wontons with tongs, spray again, and put back in on 350 Fahrenheit for another 4 minutes.
Add an extra 1-2 minutes if they’re not as brown as you desire (many air fryers differ in cook time). They should come out golden brown. Serve with sweet chili sauce or soy sauce and enjoy!
