Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Air Fryer Chicken Wings

The best chicken wings have this crisp, salty skin with a certain tang in every bite. Air fryer chicken wings are special because you get that crispy texture with a locked-in juicy and tangy taste. Bonus points go to the air fryer chicken wings because they’re low-calorie and without all the grease. Even better, you can make them in half the time it takes.

Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe

If you find yourself craving chicken wings every week, you will be making them all the time in the air fryer. There’s a certain magic that the air fryer brings with the circulating hot air that crisps up the skin on the chicken wings while making them perfectly tender and juicy in the center.

You can cook air fryer chicken wings in a little over 15 minutes (16 minutes to be exact). Just throw them in the air fryer, wait, and you have perfectly cooked wings. Of course, I always flip my wings halfway through so they crisp up evenly.

Doubling Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe

Air fryer chicken wings come out best if you do a portion at a time, that way you get a single layer of chicken wings on the pan at once. If you double your air fryer chicken wings recipe, you should add about 5 to 10 minutes so they crisp up correctly. Of course, check your air fryer model to make sure you don’t need to add or subtract time.

How to Make Air Fryer Chicken Wings

You want to make sure your chicken wings are thawed and ready to go for this air fryer chicken wing recipe. Pat your chicken wings dry with a paper towel and then in a bowl, toss your chicken with oil and season generously with salt and lemon pepper.

Arrange the chicken on the basket or tray in an even layer. No need to marinate!

Set your air fryer timer for 8 minutes of 400 degrees Fahrenheit per side. Flip the chicken over after the timer goes off and put them back in the air fryer for another 8 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Air Fryer Buffalo Wing Sauce:

While the wings are frying, in a saucepan on low, melt a stick of butter with a cup of hot sauce of your choice. My favorite is Franks Red Hot. Once melted, add a tablespoon of honey and whisk. Set aside for later.

If you have a favorite wing sauce, skip this step and use your favorite sauce instead.

When the timer goes off, grab a mixing bowl and pour half of the sauce in the bowl.

Take a pair of tongs, and add the chicken wings to the sauce and toss them in the sauce.

Add any more sauce if you prefer a saucier wing. Set aside any remaining sauce for dipping. Serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing with carrot and celery sticks.

Can I make Air Fryer Wings from Frozen?

You can make air fryer wings from frozen, but they may take a considerable amount of time (like an hour). Check out this Instant Pot chicken wings recipe for making frozen chicken wings then air frying them (they come out even juicier).

Are These Air Fryer Chicken Wings Keto?

This air fryer chicken wings recipe can be keto, though you may need to omit the honey from the recipe. Otherwise, you should be set with keto air fryer chicken wings.
